If your new year’s resolutions involve remodeling or painting the rooms of your Central, CT home, here are our predictions for 2016’s hottest paint color trends.
Rich & Luxe- Behr Paint predicts that high-contrast jewel tones will make an appearance on 2016’s forecast of hottest paint colors. Colors such as sunny Canary Diamond and stunning Emperor's Silk will be on the rise not only in our paint colors but in our lamps, curtains and toss pillows as well.
Clean & Modern- Benjamin Moore has released their wall paint color choice for 2016 and it could not be any simpler, it is simply white. This “represents a shift toward mindfulness and well-being in the home," says Jackie Jordan, director of color marketing for Sherwin-William's. "It's neither stark nor overly warm, but a flattering, alluring white." We agree, as we have seen white as a rising color trend and the new year is not predicted to change that. While white interior paint may seem plain and institutional, home decorating experts love it because it can be paired with any style or color palette.
Whimsical Blends- Color expert, Pantone, recently released their color of the year for 2016, and in a surprising twist, their “color of the year” is a gradient blend of Rose Quartz and Serenity. These two colors bring a balance “between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace” according to Pantone.
Return To Our Roots- As we become ever more distracted by modern technology, our souls will be looking for a grounded respite, especially at home. This may inspire us to choose colors that remind us of our natural roots such as mossy olive greens and earthy hues of brown. For an interior paint in this vein, try Relentless Olive.
